Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and a hashed password. This information is used to manage your account, process orders, and communicate with you.

Order & Payment Information

We collect your shipping address, phone number, and order details when you place an order. Payment information (card details, UPI) is processed entirely by Razorpay and is never stored on our servers.

Usage Data

We collect non-personally identifiable information such as device type, pages visited, referring website, and any search terms you type into our search box, to understand what our customers are looking for and improve the store. This is recorded on our own systems using a random identifier that is regenerated every 24 hours. We do not store your IP address, and this data is not linked to your account.

Mobile App

The Shades of Linen Android app collects the same information as the website and nothing more. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, calendar, or precise location, and it contains no advertising or third-party tracking software.

Order Fulfilment

To process, ship, and confirm your orders, and to communicate order status updates via email.

Account Management

To maintain your account, send transactional emails, and respond to your customer service enquiries.

Marketing

With your consent, to send you newsletters, new arrival notifications, and promotional offers. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Legal Compliance

To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction

You may update your account information at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Deletion

You can delete your account and your personal data yourself at any time — in the app under More → Delete Account, or on our website at shadesoflinen.com/delete-account. You do not need to contact us or install anything. If you have lost access to your login, the same page lets you request deletion and we will complete it within 30 days. Full details of what is removed and what is retained are set out under Data Retention below.

Opt-out

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Deleted immediately

When you delete your account, we remove your name, email address, phone number, all saved delivery addresses, your shopping bag, your wishlist, your newsletter subscription, and your login. This happens straight away and cannot be undone.

Retained

We keep the record of any orders you placed — what was purchased, the amount paid, the date, and the payment reference. Your name, contact details and delivery address are stripped from these records first, so they can no longer be traced back to you.

Why orders are kept

Indian tax and accounting law requires businesses to retain books of account and sales records for several years after the transaction. We are not permitted to delete them on request, so we anonymise them instead.

Analytics data

Website and app usage data is recorded against a random identifier that is regenerated every 24 hours and is never linked to your account, so it cannot be traced to you and is not affected by account deletion.
