Linen: the Thread Linen, Linen Piping and 4 Pocket Linen waistcoats are breathable, with a tailored fit, a structured mandarin collar and delicate accent stitching. These are the ones for daytime functions and warmer weather.
Jamawar: woven paisley and heritage brocade motifs with metallic zari threads, a structured mandarin collar and front pockets. Festive, and dry clean only.
Jacquard, silk and sequin: woven or embroidered motifs, diamond patterns, sequin detailing and mirror work. These are the wedding waistcoats.
Dola silk: silk with foil-printed heritage motifs.
Corduroy: fine-wale cotton corduroy with a 5-button front and welt pockets, and real warmth for winter weddings.
Our linen waistcoat listings put it simply: pair it with a traditional kurta set or a crisp button-down shirt. Let one piece carry the pattern. Most of these are dry clean only. Never iron directly over Jamawar's woven motifs; steam from the reverse instead. Hang corduroy on a broad wooden hanger in a breathable garment bag, not plastic, and dry clean it for the first two or three washes.
